Not going bonkers.

Yes, that is actually a challenge and is seen now as a skill in 2021.

2020 taught me to be patient, take every day as a blessing and be grateful for the people in my life that are all healthy.

One day when I win the Lotto the first thing, I will buy is a chocolate factory.

A day without a bar of chocolate keeps the doctor away….

I enjoy fiddling with computers and listening to courtroom drama.

Let’s get the job done …

My Story is a good one

Corporate background and Call Centre Manager, Project Management and implementation, Events and Hotel Industry.

I joined Jutta’s team the former owner of V-Assist about 4 years ago when I was jobless and had to start thinking seriously out of the box for an income.  Jutta showed me that the phrase “wearing many hats” is actually a “title”.

With her mentoring, guidance and continuous challenging work ethic and enthusiasm, I pushed through many challenging moments, learned new skills and was ready when she handed over V-Assist to me in 2021.

In April 2022 I celebrated my 1st year being the proud owner of V-Assist.  What a wonderful feeling.

I applied my years of experience in Eventing, Management, Call Centres, Project Planning, and Implementation in the tasks I took on for a variety of clients as a VA and in the process, I have found myself learning a whole bunch of new skills. Of which transcribing is one.

Some of the many hats I am wearing in the team consist of general administration work i.e., invoicing, quotes, data capturing, updating, and upload of information on client’s websites, Social Media Management for some clients, Mailchimp, Designing Newsletters / Ads/Brochures, Social Media posts etc. Lately, I have been more focused on building the transcribing leg of our business and have been doing work for Inlexso and private firms, subcontracting with other transcribers and my latest acquired skill is AI (Artificial Intelligence) Transcribing.

2020 was my most difficult year ever.  Personally, I had to cope with the love of my life going through health issues and I had to learn how to be patient, work the government system in a state hospital and be more appreciative of having a medical when you can afford one.

In a perfect world, I would LOVE to live in CANVA and just do design work for brochures, newsletters, pretty cards and many more.

I love Fish Paste and Apricot Jam on toast and cold green beans with potatoes on a slice of bread.

Invaluable support for you and or your business, from a person you trust, but may not have met face to face.

Virtual Assistant | Software Developer | The Thinker and tinker…

My Story is a good one

Worked as a software developer in the corporate and private sector developing Enterprise based Applications in all stages of an SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) in areas like Facility Management, Medical Aid Industry, Agriculture, Mobile Communication, Automotive Industry, Property Management and Architect Services.

In the olden days, there wasn’t much variation to choose from to solve the challenges that you had in regard to technology. Still, the world that we live in now is continuously changing, and technology is even more so.
Being a software developer requires you to be on top of your game and never stop learning new ways to solve any challenge being presented to you.
In my years working as a software developer, I learned that you had to adapt to many different environments and become a “Jack of all trades…”
The skills I learned included website design and development, responsive design, back-end development, database design and creation, programming languages and compilers and scripting languages to name a few.
These skills enabled me as a software developer to work on projects like a small five-page static website to a large Enterprise based application using the latest scripting technologies and frameworks with large back-end SQL databases with multiple tables containing large data sets captured to be used in large-scale online applications protected with layers of security protocols running on state-of-the-art servers within high-end Data centres.
Some of the online web applications I developed included CMS and CRM applications, Bulk Emailing applications, Electronic Catalogues, Project and Task Management applications, Online E-commerce applications, Health and Educational portals, Debt Counselling Assessment systems, Claim processing and Broker applications and also Corporate Leave systems.
Like many others, I would also say that this was a difficult year for all of us. During this time everything was in lockdown and for months we did not have the freedom to go to our favourite places or visit our friends or loved ones.
With so many people around me that got infected with COVID, it made me realize even more how important your health was and how easily it could be taken away from you.
It was also by the end of 2020 when I got retrenched.
As a software developer, I could work remotely from anywhere and working from home was not such a big adjustment but getting projects to work on was not that easy due to the economical downfall that COVID left behind with so many companies that could not survive the financial strain.

Since I could remember one of my biggest dreams was to become a coffee barista, a “coffee artist” if you want to call it that. I’ve been a coffee lover from a very young age, and I visited some of the well-known coffee plantations in our country learning about this delicious drink and its origin.

Who knows, maybe someday this dream might still come true …

I would describe myself as someone who is innovative and passionate about my work. I will go above and beyond to assist both my clients and colleagues wherever I can.

Anyone who knows me also knows that I am a warm and caring person who wears my heart on my sleeve.
