Kickstart 2022 with great office health habits! Part 1

 

We welcome you to this new year and we hope you are rested and rearing to get going.  It’s time to work as hard as you can to make your business better than ever, but have you ever wondered why so many people who start out with such enthusiasm start burning out in a couple of months and by Easter, they just can’t wait to take their next vacation?

For many who are now working from home, setting up a home office and working from home after being used to working regular office hours can be extremely exciting and yet challenging because it is a different mindset.  

Suddenly you need far more self-discipline to get through the chores of the day, so you start working flat out, shoulders stooped, tense and stressed.  You have started the day early without having had sufficient sleep, exercised, or had a good breakfast – and you don’t stop for breaks or nourishment.  All of a sudden you have forgotten that regular care for yourself and acceptance of your own needs is important too and all it requires is good planning and a little effort.

The best advice we can give is to make that effort to be kind to yourself and treat yourself as you would the clients that you are working so hard for.  We all need to look after ourselves as well as our clients and no office workers can give their best to clients if they are running on empty.  So this two-part article series and our blog series for this month will be all about how important it is for you to Kickstart 2022 with great office health habits!

These will include keeping a correct posture and positioning behind your desk; eating well and easy ways to take nourishment throughout the day; good relaxation exercises and easy stretches to do while you work and finally getting the right time out – from taking regular breaks and vacations to sufficient rest and sleep.  So watch this space!

In the meantime, the very best way to ensure you don’t burn out at the office is to ensure that you are not overworking on the things you shouldn’t be doing.  Far too many people spend too much time working in their business instead of (in a relaxed fashion) working on their business to expand.
